At first glance, Fauve comes off as quick-witted and confident. She walks with purpose, twinkling eyes and a devious smirk playing across her face. For many years, this guise gave her the power she needed to survive in this world. The title of "Mistress" only bolstered that image. This outward appearance, however, is only one part of who Fauve is. There is also a softness and a vulnerability, as she is both deeply caring and empathetic.
Interview with Fauve
-- "what was you childhood like? You mentioned tragic, what made it that way?"
"... Well, I barely knew my mother, I was raised by my mother's partner, mostly. She.. uh, my mother, .... She died when my brother was born."
--"and what was your mother's partner like?"
"Hmm, they were tough - part of a militia, i believe. They taught me how to survive on my own... how to use a bow... hunting, foraging... and what to look out for in people."
--"Are you still in contact with them?
"No.... I haven't seen them in quite some time now. They were needed for the war, so they left, and it was just me and my younger brother."
--"Can you tell me about your brother?"
"Ah... uhh, yeah... I-I basically raised him. It was just the two of us for years, so... we were really close..."
--"Is... that no longer the case?"
"ah... well... ah, sorry... I won't say that we aren't close now, but it certainly isn't the same. My brother met someone in the town we had been staying in. They got married and started a family... D-don't think I'm not happy for him, I really am!... but it was a difficult change for me. For a while I felt really alone, and that was difficult.
--"Ah... Have... you spoken since?"
"Yeah... yeah, we are on good terms. We are still family after all, we've been through a lot together and that won't ever change. We write each other letters fairly regularly, and I visit him a few times in a year..."
--"I see. So, what have you been up to lately?
"Well, after I found my way to Gridania, things for me certainly changed. That is really when I overcame a lot of my depression and began doing things for myself."
--"What kind of things did you do?"
"Well, my love for music really blossomed there. I met musicians and bards... and I found a real passion for singing and dancing."
--"Do you perform in public spaces? Or.. is it something that you do more for yourself in private?"
"Uhh... well, I'd say I keep the singing more to myself, but... I have danced in public spaces. I worked at a club for as a dancer for a little while... it helped me pay for food and a place to stay."
